Columbia Gas of Ohio Energy Efficiency Program Cuts Water Bills Too
Columbia Gas of Ohio’s new Simple Energy Solutions program offers an added bonus: savings on water bills.
In addition to saving on natural gas costs, the energy-efficient, high-performance showerheads available through the Simple Energy Solutions rebate program Simple Energy Solutions will also reduce a Columbia Gas customer’s water bill. These savings can have a pocketbook-friendly impact at a time when water and sewer rates are on the rise in many communities.
Replacing a conventional showerhead with one that’s available through Simple Energy Solutions can save between 1,800 and 3,600 gallons of water annually. The total impact on a consumer’s bill would be based on the local municipality’s water rates and the number of adults using the shower daily. The savings figures are based on one adult taking a 10-minute daily shower.
These savings may reduce the impact of increasing water rates not only this year but as long as the new showerhead is used. The cost of a new showerhead, after rebate, can be as low as 50 cents and the showerhead takes just minutes to install.
Columbia Gas of Ohio recently introduced Simple Energy Solutions, an energy-efficiency program to help consumers save up to $195 annually on energy costs by utilizing programmable thermostats Thermostat Video and energy-efficient showerheads.
Columbia Gas residential water-heating customers are eligible for rebates of $10 off qualified high-performance, energy-efficient showerheads and Columbia’s residential heating customers are eligible for $25 off ENERGY STAR-qualified programmable thermostats.
To qualify for the $10 rebate, the showerhead must have a maximum flow rate of 1.8 gallons-per-minute or less. Customers may receive rebates on up to three showerheads.
