Reconnecting Service for the Winter Heating Season

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) has established provisions for Ohioans reconnecting utility service for the 2009-2010 winter heating season.

Between Oct. 19, 2009 and April 15, 2010, customers who have had service disconnected because of nonpayment can have their service restored if they pay the amount owed or $175, whichever is less, plus a service reconnection fee of $52 ($36 to be paid now, and the remaining $16 to be added to the next bill).

In addition, Columbia Gas customers who have been disconnected for nonpayment for more than ten business days will be reconnected within five business days, effective October 1.
