Smoke on the Water - Ribs for the Red Cross
For the third consecutive year, Columbia Gas of Ohio was the presenting sponsor of Smoke on the Water - Ribs for the Red Cross. Nearly 20,000 fans of great BBQ and live entertainment flooded to Promenade Park in downtown Toledo for the weekend long celebration!

"Smoke on the Water is a great way for Columbia Gas to help the Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross raise some much needed funds," said Chris Kozak, Columbia Gas of Ohio Communications and Community Relation Manager and Chairman of the Smoke on the Water Committee. "It's also a great opportunity to be involved and engaged as the major sponsor for an event that has become a signature downtown Toledo summertime event."
BBQ fans had the opportunity to sample the best from 10 Northwest Ohio and Midwestern grill masters as well as live entertainment from such national acts as Mini Kiss, Gin Blossoms and The Kentucky Headhunters. Though bones are still being counted, organizers anticipate raising more than $75,000 for the Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Kozak said that planning is already underway for 2011 and Columbia Gas is looking at continuing the partnership with the Red Cross.
