You can also pay your Columbia Gas of Ohio bill online or by phone through NCO Payment Services, one of the industry’s most secure electronic transaction environments.
No special enrollment is required - just have your 15-digit Columbia Gas of Ohio account number handy when you make the payment.
Pay your bill in full or specify the amount you want to pay that month. If you pay by electronic check, there is a $30,000 limit to the amount of your transaction. Limits on debit card transactions depend upon your agreement with the bank or financial institution that issues the card. The payment limit for credit cards is $9,999.99. In an effort to prevent fraudulent use of stolen cards, NCO does not allow any valid credit card to be used to pay more than three customer accounts per rolling month.
You will be given an opportunity to complete or stop the transaction after the total amount of your payment including the convenience fee, has been calculated.

Report your payment if facing shut-off
NCO will provide a payment confirmation number for your records. If your payment is to avoid shut-off, connect or reconnect service, be sure to call Columbia Gas DirectLink at 1-800-543-8911 before 10:00 pm the day before the scheduled termination and follow these steps to report the payment confirmation number:
- Select option 1 on the Columbia Gas DirectLink automated phone system for billing and payment information, then
- Select option 1 from the next menu to enter a payment receipt number.
About NCO’s convenience fee
NCO is an authorized payment agent for Columbia Gas of Ohio but is not affiliated with Columbia Gas of Ohio. Columbia Gas of Ohio receives no portion of the fee, only the actual bill payment amount.
Your Columbia Gas of Ohio account will be credited only with the amount you specify to be paid on your gas bill, not including NCO’s convenience fee. The total amount of your transaction will appear on your bank statement as "NCO Financial System," or on your credit/debit card statement as "NiSource/NCO."
