Distribution Center Underway in Findlay

Lowe's Cos. Inc. is building a $77 million distribution center on a rural site north of Findlay, Ohio, in Hancock County.

Construction of the 1.25 million-square-foot building began this past summer on a 110- acre lot in Allen Township. Lowe's officials are hoping to have the distribution center open before the end of 2001. The company expects to employ 425 full-time and 175 part-time workers within three years to staff the center.

The distribution center will ship products to more than 100 Lowe's stores in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. It will be one of Lowe's two largest distribution centers in the country.
