Restoring Service in Perry County

Wednesday, April 04, 2018

Columbia Gas crews from around the state are restoring service to customers in Perry County affected by a gas supplier issue. As of 7:00 pm, service was back on more than half of the affected customers.

To restore service, we must have access customers’ homes to complete a safety inspection and relight appliances. This could take approximately 30 minutes per home. An adult must be present at the home.

If your service is out, please keep your porch light on. Technicians will leave a door tag if a customer is not home, and the customer can call to have service restored. We ask that customers who won’t be home leave contact information on their door or with a neighbor.

Columbia Gas employees and contractors carry photo IDs and will be happy to show them on request. Only our employees and contractors are capable of restoring service.

Customers worried about frozen pipes are advised to keep cold water dripping from any faucet in the home. Even a trickle helps prevent pipes from freezing.

Customers that have special needs or medical concerns should contact us at 1-800-344-4077.
