Pay Online with BillMatrix
You can also use your credit card, ATM debit card, or an electronic check to pay your Columbia Gas of Ohio bill online or by phone through BillMatrix, one of the industry's most secure electronic transaction environments. No special enrollment is required - just have your 15-digit Columbia Gas account number handy when you make the payment.
Pay your bill in full or specify the amount you want to pay that month. If you pay by electronic check, there is a $10,000 limit to the amount of your transaction. The limit on payments by credit and ATM debit card is $750 per transaction. BillMatrix charges a $2.45 convenience fee for each transaction. You'll be given an opportunity to complete or stop the transaction after the total amount of your payment, including the convenience fee, has been calculated.

Report your payment if facing shut-off
BillMatrix will provide a payment confirmation number for your records. If your payment is to avoid shut-off, connect or reconnect service, be sure to call Columbia Gas DirectLink at 1-800-344-4077 before 10:00 p.m. the day before the scheduled termination and follow these steps to report the payment confirmation number:
- Select option 1 on the Columbia Gas DirectLink automated phone system for billing and payment information, then
- Select option 1 from the next menu to enter the payment receipt number.
About the BillMatrix convenience fee
BillMatrix is an authorized payment agent for Columbia Gas of Ohio but is not affiliated with Columbia Gas of Ohio. Columbia Gas of Ohio receives no portion of the fee, only the actual bill payment amount. Your Columbia Gas of Ohio account will be credited only with the amount you specify to be paid on your gas bill, not including the BillMatrix convenience fee. In an effort to prevent fraudulent use of the service, BillMatrix does not allow more than three payments on an account using the same valid credit card within a five-day period, or more than five payments within 30 days.
