Learn more about natural gas safety
We’re proud to partner with firefighters, police officers and emergency management officials in our communities. We train hundreds of first responders each year so they know how to react during an emergency.
CoRE-EX Pipeline Safety Program
We partner with Paradigm Liaison Services, an industry leader in pipeline safety programs, to offer free, in-person training that is geared towards first responders, contractors, excavators, and public officials. These meetings explore pipeline safety
and are traditionally held in February and March. Visit oh.pipeline-awareness.com to learn more and register.

to attend in-person? Visit oh.pipeline-awareness.com/training_center for

Partners in safety
We believe emergency responders are a key part of our safety team. Although incidents involving natural gas are rare, by working in partnership we can help ensure the safety of our teams and the public in the event of an emergency. We offer the following classroom trainings:
Gas basics
- 811 Notification and damage prevention
- Natural gas production
- Properties of natural gas and propane
- Composition
- Demo of specific gravity, limits of flammability and improper combustion
- Gas distribution systems
- Gas leak causes and leakage patterns
- Sources of ignition
- Carbon monoxide
Gas simulations in emergency response
- Simulated blowing gas line
- Carbon monoxide response
- Carbon monoxide causes
- Valve station proper procedures
Fire safety training
