(Columbus, OH) – This Sunday, Sept. 1, marks the beginning of Hunger Action Month, and Columbia Gas of Ohio will once again partner with agencies around the state to raise awareness of food insecurity and encourage others to join the fight to end hunger.
“Families in every corner of Ohio are impacted by food insecurity, and it is an issue we can work together to solve,” said Bob Heidorn, president and chief operating officer of Columbia Gas of Ohio. “At Columbia, we work every day to meet our customers’ basic needs of staying safe and connected. We are proud to partner with organizations that work to meet another basic need: food security.”
During September, Columbia Gas team members will engage with community organizations that are focused on food insecurity. These organizations include Children’s Hunger Alliance, Mid-Ohio Food Collective, Second Harvest Food Bank, Connecting Kids to Meals, LifeCare Alliance, Springfield Soup Kitchen and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio. Throughout September, Columbia Gas will use social media to raise awareness for these organizations and encourage others to share their stories. We invite customers to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as we strive to erase hunger in our communities.
In addition to Columbia’s work to end food insecurity in Ohio, we want to help customers who may need assistance with their energy bill. There are several flexible payment programs available to help customers get back on track, and the customer care team is available to help customers find a payment plan that works for their unique situation. More information on these programs is available at ColumbiaGasOhio.com. Customers can also contact us at 1 (800) 344-4077 or through social media.
