President and Chief Operating Officer, Columbia Gas of Ohio
Robert (Bob) Heidorn serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of Columbia Gas of Ohio. He has profit and loss responsibility, and oversight of the companies’ risk management, regulatory, legislative, and external affairs. Heidorn focuses on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient natural gas service to 1.5 million customers across Ohio’s 61-county service territory.Previously, Heidorn served as vice president and deputy general counsel of Regulatory for NiSource.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
For the past 35 years, Heidorn has worked in various regulatory and strategic roles in the energy industry. He began his career at the Indianapolis law firm of Barnes & Thornburg LLP. Heidorn has experience as general counsel and chief compliance officer at Vectren Corporation, a public utility serving more than 1.2 million electric and gas customers in Indiana and Ohio. Heidorn also oversaw regulatory matters in Indiana and Ohio for CenterPoint Energy.
BOARD AND CIVIC INVOLVEMENT
Heidorn was president of the Carver Community Center in Evansville Indiana, providing educational programs and other opportunities to diverse children. He has served in various roles for the United Way of Southwestern Indiana and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
EDUCATION
Heidorn has a bachelor’s degree in English literature and history from Miami University and earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin.

Heidorn resides in Dublin, Ohio and is engaged with three adult children.
